Schenk Recycling has been trading in paper and metals for three generations. So you can say that we are a family business with a rich history. Over the years we have gotten better and bigger at what we do. For example, we moved from Laren to a larger location in Almere, we started to recycle plastic and we have built up more and more sustainable relationships. What has remained unchanged: our environmental awareness and our passion for recycling. 

History

Laren '56

Our family business was founded in 1956 in Laren by Jan Schenk senior. As a 'rag farmer' Jan walked through the streets to collect old textiles and later also paper and metals. Jan's sole proprietorship grew into a company that became too large for the village center of Laren.

The move

At the end of the eighties, we moved to the industrial area De Vaart, on the Remmingweg in Almere. This new location offered us new opportunities. For example, we no longer limited ourselves to processing only old paper and metals, but also started recycling plastic.

For more than 25 years in Almere

Meanwhile, the third generation continues to run the company with enthusiasm and an environmental focus. For example, in September 2015 we officially opened our new business premises and we also celebrated our 25th anniversary in Almere. This way we keep a future-oriented perspective in addition to the pure family feeling!
