The name Schaumaier has been synonymous with waste disposal services since it was founded in Traunstein and the region. The entrepreneur Jakob Schaumaier was deeply rooted in the location and enjoyed extensive recognition by his customers from private households, craft businesses, industry and the community.

70 years of recycling competence for the Traunstein region

A look back shows that the company founded by Jakob Schaumaier in 1949 recognized the importance of responsible use of raw materials very early on. On the first company site on Gabelsberger Straße, the focus was still on recycling scrap metal, scrap and paper. Schaumaier was also able to make a significant contribution to the Traunstein region in the disposal and removal of post-war loads.

1949

In the year the Federal Republic of Germany was born, the Traunstein entrepreneur Jakob Schaumaier founded his company for the disposal of scrap metals and paper.

1955

The first company site was 6000 square meters near the train station on Gabelsberger Straße. With diligence and reliability, the company established itself very quickly and in a few years became an integral part of the Chiemgau industrial landscape.

1975

The company founder died completely unexpectedly. He appointed his 21 employees as his heirs. A very unusual step, which shows the entrepreneurial understanding Jakob Schaumaier had. Of the 21 company owners at the time, the shareholders Johann Hunglinger and Sebastian Schneck are still active in the company today.

1980

With the growing success of J. Schaumaier Nachf. GmbH, it became necessary to create modern framework conditions by moving to the current company premises in Industriestrasse. Ongoing investments - a drainage system for cars was built and the storage area built in accordance with the Federal Emissions Protection Act was equipped with a 450 t press.

1991

The capacity of the scrap press was increased by a 600 t press.

1993

Through entrepreneurial determination paired with social responsibility, the company has developed into a central hub for waste disposal goods in the southeastern Bavarian region.

1998

J. Schaumaier Nachf. GmbH is allowed to use the designation "certified waste management company" thanks to its consistent orientation towards the latest environmental protection regulations.

2009

Schaumaier-Recycling opens at Industriestraße 4 with the Recycling Center2, the most modern materials yard in Traunstein and the surrounding area. Here, the small taxes from households and small businesses are accepted and professionally fed into the recycling cycle.

2011

The largest conversion measure in the history of Schaumaier-Recycling concerns the complete modernization of the recycling center 1. In a conversion time of only 6 months, the most modern covered storage areas, environmentally friendly floor sealing, new access solution with additional truck scales as well as radiation detectors, and much more are created.

2014

The subsidiary Sondstoff Süd GmbH is founded and offers customers optimal solutions with regard to the disposal of dangerous and problematic materials. In addition, Schaumaier and MSP, two companies with decades of disposal and recycling experience, now form the valuable basis for a bundled range of services in the region.

2016

The subsidiary "Biomassehof Chiemgau" is created as a cooperation project between J. Schaumaier Nachsteiger GmbH in Traunstein and Landschaftspflege Mayer GmbH in Hart. The aim of this cooperation is the further development of both companies in the field of waste wood and all biomass.

2017

The construction of a new recycling center has started.

2018

After the successful completion of the construction work, Sonderstoff Süd GmbH and the recycling center will move to the new premises in Industriestraße 24. The site not only impresses with the larger space available, but also offers the possibility of delivering green waste at ground level, as well as building rubble delivery options in bulk boxes.
