Selective packaging waste collection project, in collaboration with SC ECO-ROM AMBALAJE SA

It started as a pilot project in 2005 ("ERACOLECT" project) in two neighborhoods in MediaÅŸ (10,000 inhabitants) and has now been expanded in the entire northern region of Sibiu County (over 100,000 inhabitants) corresponding to the area served with public sanitation services. To date, the project has set up 96 selective collection points for paper, cardboard and plastic throughout the region, and 10,000 bags for paper and cardboard and plastic are distributed monthly (at homes only).

The project “Selective collection and transfer of household waste in MediaÅŸ”, PHARE 2003 Program, carried out in the period 2005-2008. Through the project, a waste sorting and transfer station was built, 50 selective collection points for plastic, paper-cardboard and glass waste were arranged, and machinery and equipment necessary for collection, sorting, processing for capitalization were purchased. recyclable waste and disposal of household waste.
