SBS Steel Belt Systems is an engineering and production company specialized in the design and manufacturing of steel belt systems for continuous industrial processes.
1978 - Foundation of “Ing. G. Calamarà” individual company; headquarter in Milan, Italy.
1978 – Foundation of North American Belting, Inc.
1984 - Foundation of SBS STEEL BELT SYSTEMS S.r.l. in Milan; direct production of machines begins in Tradate, north of Milan.
1988 – Foundation of Berndorf Belt Systems USA (BBS) 100% owned by BERNDORF AG.
1989 - Development and introduction of the feeding device Accudrop®.
1993 - Participation of BERNDORF AG into SBS STEEL BELT SYSTEMS S.r.l. with 25% shares. Berndorf Group is a multinational Group with headquarters in Austria. One of her controlled Companies is the manufacturer of high quality steel belts, the core component of SBS machines.
1995 - Attainment of ISO 9001 Certification for Quality Management System.
2001 – Start-up of new manufacturing facilities in Venegono Inferiore, Italy, north of Milan.
1997 - Attainment of ISO 9001 Certification for Quality Management System.
2004 – Start-up of new facilities in Villafranca Tirrena, Italy as pilot line for the development of new powder coating recipes based on regenerated raw materials.
2006 – International expansion, association with Berndorf Belt Systems (BBS) in Illinois, USA.
2006 - Association with SBS Steel Belt Systems S.r.l.- Italy.
2010 - International expansion, foundation of SBS USA (former BBS) with 75% shares (25% owned by BERNDORF AG); facilities in Elgin, Illinois (USA)
2010 - Beginning of the sulfur and derivates packages engineering and manufacturing.
2013 - Acquisition of the assets of a former major player and consequent entry in the extrusion, mixing and milling business for powder coating.
2013 – Start-up of new manufacturing facilities in Gilberts, Illinois (USA).
2013 – Attainment of the SUDIC certification stating that Accudrop® produces Superior Sulphur Pastilles.
2014 – Attainment of BS OHSAS 18001:2007 Certification for Occupational Health & Safety
