Sanico, Inc. provides recycling and solid waste collection services to homes, business and industry in NJ counties of Hunterdon, Morris, and Warren.

Jim Smith founded the company in October 1973. With some financial help from his parents, Enid and Henry, he purchased his “fleet”, consisting of one used rear loading packer garbage truck. Jumping in and out of the truck every day on a small residential collection route, he “worked off” the route, and went on to acquire other routes in Warren, Morris and Hunterdon counties.
