The very first Work Integration Service (SIT) was officially created in 1997 in Trois-Rivières, following a valuable collaboration between the Center hospitalier du Center de la Mauricie (Ste-Thérèse site), the Center hospitalier régional de Trois-Rivières and the Center Le Havre. The purpose of this consultation was to offer an adapted and lasting response to the integration difficulties experienced by homeless people with mental health problems. Subsequently, the persons in charge of the Service d'Intégration au Travail (SIT) of Trois-Rivières and of the Serge Barolet work center (Shawinigan) decided to regroup in order to better meet the needs of these people in the different sectors of the Mauricie. . They then founded the Regional Corporation. The Serge Barolet Center then separated from the Hospital Center and became the Shawinigan SIT. The SIT of Louiseville (1998) and that of St-Stanislas (2001) were then founded, which were closed to be transferred to St-Tite, which officially opened its doors in September 2013. In October 2000, the Corporation "Service d' Integration au Travail-Mauricie” is born. This union being their strength, the workplaces allow in particular:

to cover a larger territory in Mauricie;

to exchange human, financial and material resources;

to share expertise and knowledge;

to ensure complementarity of services.
