Established in 1971, RBS operates two recycling facilities in Washington, DC. One facility is a Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) that mechanically processes and recycles commercial single stream materials primarily coming from office buildings, governmental, institutional and commercial properties, and the second facility processes and recycles construction and demolition materials (C&D MRF).
These facilities enable RBS to meet all the recycling requirements of our customers at a single location providing a single point of focus for processing, marketing and reporting. Materials recycled include: cardboard, paper, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and glass bottles, concrete, brick, block, dirt, ferrous, non-ferrous metals, wood and plastic. When our customers utilize these services, they also receive comprehensive reports for LEEDs and other recycling programs.
