In February 1997, following the analysis of the offers received, the protocol for the establishment of the Romanian-German company RETIM Ecologic Service SA was signed. The Romanian side, represented by the Timișoara City Council, brings to the subscribed social capital the heritage of the Autonomous Sanitation Authority, and the German side comes with sanitation equipment and an important financial contribution. 
From this moment on, RETIM Ecologic Service SA's strategy for the sanitation of the city of Timișoara means a new way of collecting household waste, the recovery of reusable materials and the realization of a unified street sanitation program for the city. By introducing Eurobins, the new collection system meets European standards.
The performance level of the equipment allowed the conclusion of contracts for various sanitation services, in any of the areas of interest. Thus, at this moment, SC RETIM Ecologic Service SA serves the population of the municipality of Timișoara and the localities of Zone 1 – Timiș, the municipality of Lugoj and the localities of Zone 0 – Timiș, the municipality of Arad and the localities of Zone 1 – Arad. 
Constantly meeting the requirements of existing or potential customers, the company makes available to interested natural or legal persons a diversified range of services, pre-collection containers and suitable means of collection and transport.
Garbage trucks, sweepers, ALL-IN-ONE systems, abrollkippers, 22 cubic meter pressure containers, pre-collection containers for the population, economic agents, for recyclable waste and, not least, loaders and trailer tractors. They are machines with which RETIM Ecologic Service provides sanitation and transport services. 
In the context of the activity closely related to the communal household, as well as to the current activity, SC RETIM Ecologic Service SA approached new areas of activity, equipping itself especially for this purpose with machinery specific to winter services.
RETIM Ecologic Service also places a special emphasis on the actions of civic and ecological education of the city's citizens, and especially of children, in the sense of respecting the ecological norms of life. For this, brochures, books for preschool and school children were edited and all local mass media were used. Also for this purpose, RETIM Ecologic Service organized together with the students from the schools in the city actions to clean the spaces inside the schools and those in their vicinity.
Since 1997, the activity of the company with private capital has improved permanently, constantly obtaining the first place in the county for the activity "Social Services - large enterprises" (over 250 employees), both due to the achievements, as a result of the in-kind contribution of the German partner, as well as the expansion of the activity on other markets outside Timiș county. 
All these achievements, as well as the requirements of the Romanian legislation and the market economy at EU level in the field in which we operate, led us to implement within the organization the integrated management system: quality - environment (ISO 9001; 14001; 45001).
Thus, the necessity, the opportunity, as well as the technical-economic calculation of the destruction in any form of the collected waste led us to the solution of a regional ecological storage, a solution agreed by the EU, co-financing banks, as well as by the local communities. 
The recognition of the status of the organization that complies with the requirements of the EU standards was certified by bodies with international recognition, a fact that denotes a common language and methodology in approaching the service segment of activity.
