Regenyx was the first company in the world recycling solid polystyrene plastic waste back to in-kind products, - a process that happens without quality degradation or contaminants. Born in 2019 with the idea that no polystyrene products ever need to be landfilled again, two companies set out to see that goal become a reality. Regenyx is a joint-venture between Agilyx, a company focused on molecular recycling for a range of products and AmSty, a styrenics producer focused on industry innovation and long-term solutions for polystyrene plastic waste.
“Regenyx is a great testament to Agilyx advanced recycling technology. The advancements we have made in our work with AmSty along with the ISCC PLUS certification of the Regenyx facility proves that waste plastics can truly have a circular life,” says Tim Stedman, CEO of Agilyx.
Co-located with Agilyx in Tigard, Oregon, the Regenyx flagship facility converts solid plastic waste collected through drop-off, curb side, offtake agreements, and take-back programs, back into a pure feedstock form that can be re-processed infinitely. In an ideal future world where all polystyrene is recycled at Regenyx, the consumption of natural resources needed to produce the resulting PolyUsable products would fall to nearly zero.
