Recycled Treasures was established in 2007 to fill the gap after the closing of the only nonprofit second hand shop in town, where low income families could purchase household items and basic furniture at low cost.

Within three months, Recycled Treasures had secured 3,000 feet of space, a truck was donated and filled the new shop space half way with donations. By the time the doors opened for business in July 2007, we had received our 501c3 status from the IRS and the shop was full.

Since 2007, Recycled Treasures has assisted hundreds of families with the basic items needed to live through low cost shopping, or from our Emergency Furniture Program, the Give Away Program and Beds For Kids Program.

Mission :

To build a more viable, sustainable and caring urban community by promoting recycling of household resources, assisting vulnerable neighbors regarding those resource needs, and encouraging the creative reuse of items to reduce landfill.
