quasar energy group is recycling energy in North America from organic wastes. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, quasar is a full service waste-to-energy company with a superior laboratory and engineering facility at The Ohio State University's Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC) campus located in Wooster, Ohio. quasar designs, builds, owns and operates anaerobic digestion facilities using U.S. components to produce renewable energy.
quasar technology solves waste management issues facing agricultural farmers, industrial food companies, municipal treatment plants and ethanol producers. Our complete mix, high solids anaerobic digestion technology is proven, reliable and advanced. quasar's engineering and construction services can provide turn-key solutions to any economic or environmental waste challenge while generating sustainable, renewable resources.
quasar creates a system that recycles energy from waste that would usually be incinerated or hauled to landfills. Instead, our process generates EQ biosolids. Resulting biogas becomes reusable energy while remaining liquid and resulting solids can be used for fertilizer and organic soil amendments. We provide alternatives to disposal through beneficial use.
Mission Statement:
"To produce affordable renewable energy from commercial and municipal organic biomass, while improving the environment."
Our Values:
Integrity: Ethically and honestly doing what we say we will do.
Stewardship: A commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and the betterment of communities in which we conduct business.
Productivity: Increasing the quality and performance of quasar projects in order to solve both economic and environmental liabilities facing our customers and their communities.
Initiative: Possessing and demonstrating the courage, conviction, and creativity to lead change in order to create an affordable renewable energy industry.
History
quasar energy group is committed to bringing renewable energy to North America. “Our systems represent an aggregation of the best available technologies from over thirty European providers,” states Mel Kurtz, President of quasar. Since 2006 quasar's leadership team has worked to provide clients with turn-key solutions to their waste management challenges and renewable energy goals.
Before November 2009 quasar energy group operated under the name Schmack BioEnergy. The name change more accurately reflects our technological approach and symbolizes the contribution our systems will make to the national energy supply
A quasar is an abundant energy source, an extremely distant object with energy output several thousand times that of our galaxy.
quasar is one word that describes the potential of the biomass waste-to-energy industry. We are presented with an abundant opportunity to produce energy from readily available biomass sources (food waste, manure, biosolids, crop waste). As our population continues to grow, so does our demand for energy and our need to dispose of waste. quasar technology is a solution to this challenge.
quasar - a huge opportunity for America's energy - economy - environment (EEE)
Energy: quasar systems produce biogas that can be used as electricity and thermal heat, natural gas or CNG (compressed natural gas).
Economy quasar biomass waste-to-energy systems have enormous potential to create American jobs in an industry of the future. Our systems use US components manufactured by a vast and growing supply chain of skilled workers.
Environment: quasar systems reduce greenhouse gas emissions, divert waste from landfills, and contribute to cleaner air, water and soil.
