About PAS
Providing our customers with truly custom fit designs and machine rebuilds.Precision Ag Solutions, LLC., was founded on November 1, 2007 by Dave Houtwed who saw a need in the farming industry that was not being adequately met. At a young age, Dave began farming his family’s farm near Ruskin, Nebraska. In 1993, he moved his family to Dalhart, Texas and became a foreman on a ten thousand acre irrigated farm. In 1996, they moved to their current residence near Cunningham, KS where he was a foreman for another large farm.At this time, together with a previous co-worker, Alan Crotts, Dave began contracting with local farm equipment dealers installing fertilizer systems on planters, drills, strip-till machines and other implements. Soon the dealers had them setting up new disks, chisels, planters, drills, and headers, etc. As word about his business spread, Dave began working with implement dealers in Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma, Iowa, Missouri, and Texas. In 2011, when Precision Ag Solutions bought a 28,000 square foot building from John Deere (BTI) in Pratt, KS (2.5 miles north of Pratt on Hwy 281), business started booming. Since moving into the new buildings, the business has grown tremendously. Precision Ag is now designing and fabricating anything needed for fertilizer setup on location. This has opened endless opportunities for the business to expand and develop into new areas, providing our customers with truly custom fit designs and machine rebuilds
In 2007, when Precision Ag Solutions started, we set up approximately fifteen planters and a few strip-till rigs. Orders for fertilizer setups have doubled each year since. In 2013, we are projected to setup approximately 150 planters, drills, and strip-tillers.At Precision Ag Solutions, we install fertilizer systems on planters, strip-till rigs, and drills. We mount saddle tanks on tractors and plumb them all up to the implement. For our main setup we use Raven components with hypro hydraulic centrifugal pumps. By using Raven flow meters, control valves, and on/off valves, they will plug and play into most controllers.Dave's son-in-law, Todd Young does all of our fabrication and welding for the fertilizer brackets. Dave's son, Brian and his crew, does most of the fertilizer installations.Dave will work with you to design a fertilizer system custom designed to fit your needs. Precision Ag Solutions strives to use the latest technology, but keep it as simple as possible. The operator shouldn't have to be a retired NASA engineer to operate it.If you are interested in an estimate call Dave at 620-933-2026 (office) or 620-243-2566 (cell).Fertilizer InstallationHomeAbout PASFertilizer InstallationAirseeder RebuildsGrease SystemsSet-upGallery
What’s the number one complaint we get about air seeder maintenance? It is a nightmare to crawl through the row units to grease them.At Precision Ag Solutions we have rebuilt hundreds of air seeder row units. It didn’t take long to see the difference between units that were well greased and the ones that were not. Well-greased air seeders lasted 15,000 acres longer. They also cost less to rebuild because they disassembled more quickly because they were not coated with rust.We have designed a GREASE SYSTEM that is set up in banks in easy to reach locations by running 12,000 lb test hoses to each row. We replace the grease zerks with threaded in fitting in the hose. This allows you to just walk along the machine and grease each bank in its easily accessible location
