On thermal insulation in bulk and polystyrene recycling
How it all started… In 2009 I started working for a waste disposal company. Among other things, the company also bundled residual polystyrene from the construction industry, the disposal of which was costly. Every time I saw a bulky pile of polystyrene, I wondered what to do with it. The idea didn't take long to come…
I live in an old family house from 1937, the house is not insulated, it also has problems with humidity, so it needs ideal insulation that will breathe and what else could have occurred to me than loose polystyrene. A six-month period of inventing, drawing, measuring, counting began, at the end of which there was to be a polystyrene crushing machine, and in May 2010 the crusher was ready and functional.
Subsequently, I tried to sell loose polystyrene and succeeded. To this day, I remember my first customer, who needed loose polystyrene to insulate the floor and ceiling. It was an incredible joy, from then on it was clear to me that I wanted to devote myself fully. Like most entrepreneurs, I started at home in the garage, but that is a thing of the past today.
When a customer comes to us today on a recommendation, it is a great pleasure and confirmation for me that the production of quality loose thermal insulation makes sense. Crushed polystyrene is returned to the construction industry in the form of full-value loose insulation and does not have to end up in landfills. I am glad that in this way I can contribute to improving the environment.
It would be a shame not to take advantage of all the properties and advantages that loose, crushed polystyrene has.
