PolymerTrade was established in 1998, and established as a limited company in 2000, with Per Haakonsen as owner. From the start, the focus has been the export of plastic waste for material recycling as well as the import of plastic sheets. We are constantly developing circular solutions and we can now offer transparent and colored waste bags made from Norwegian household plastic and food foil.
In 2012, we founded UAB RetroPlast in Lithuania together with a local partner. We now annually export approx. 8,000 tonnes of mixed plastic waste for sorting in Lithuania.
In total, UAB RetroPlast handles over 12,000 tonnes of plastic waste annually and has become a significant recycling player in the Baltics.
We export both production waste, waste from offshore and fish farming and packaging plastic. We are approved as traders and collectors by Grønt Punkt Norge AS (www.grontpunkt.no).
In 2013, the share capital was expanded and Resource AS became a 50% owner.
In 2020, all activity within waste brokerage in Resource AS and PolyNord AS (with general manager Mikkel Haabeth) was transferred to PolymerTrade AS.
PolymerTrade AS exports over 30,000 tonnes of plastic for material recycling every year and is therefore one of Norway's largest waste brokers within plastics.
