History

P&K first began operations under the name Pfaff & Kendall in 1902 at the former location in Newark, New Jersey. At the end of World War II, the aluminum pole industry was born and P&K's first large project was the manufacture of the lighting poles for the New Jersey Turnpike. Since that time, the business has grown throughout the United States, with exports to Canada, the Caribbean, the Pacific/Asia areas and the Middle East. In 2003 a new direction began when Flagpoles Incorporated purchased all of the assets of the Former P&K Pole Products and formed a new corporation P&K Tubular ProductsIn the near future our Sales and Engineering office will be opening in New Jersey featuring members of the original P&K staff.

P&K uses several aluminum alloys, including 6063 and 6005 for lighting arms and pole shafts, and 356 and 319 for base castings.

P&K’s commitment to quality is evident throughout the manufacturing process. We have a formal set of procedures covering all activities, from sales through shipping, and a formal quality assurance program. Specialized programs are utilized where required. A full-time quality staff reports directly to the VP of Engineering, who is responsible for overall quality programs.
