Today, we are increasingly using PET bottles in our daily lives. The most common use of these bottles is for water and soft drinks. In fact, in our country, especially in summer, these bottles are used by millions.
A bottle of water, once it reaches the hands of the consumer has a short shelf life, as its contents are drunk relatively quickly. The bottle then ends up in a bin or, sometimes, a recycling bin. Unfortunately, many bottles often end up in landfills or even at sea.
But the plastic bottle does not break down easily in nature. It is estimated that, depending on the circumstances, it takes about 450 years for a bottle to break down in nature. In fact, in the sea the bottles are likely to break into smaller pieces, which will be swallowed by animals, such as birds, fish, etc., thus contaminating the entire food chain!
The need for recycling PET bottles is therefore self-evident, especially for a country with the marine environment of Greece.
PET Recycling is active in the field of Plastic Raw Materials Recovery, with special emphasis on Plastic Packaging Recycling.
The main activity of PET Recycling is the conversion of plastic packaging from PET, such as water bottles and soft drinks, into flakes, in order to be reused in the plastic packaging industry.
Secondly, PET Recycling recycles a number of other packaging products from Polyethylene and Polypropylene
