Porous Media was started as a private company in 1984. Over the years, the company established itself in the oil and gas industry as a preferred provider of high performance separation technologies. In 2007, Pentair acquired Porous Media and it is now an an operating unit of Pentair plc doing business as Pentair Oil & Gas Separations.
