Peddle, we make good things new. We’re passionate about keeping goods like cardboard, plastic, and glass, out of the landfill and instead, turning them into new products.
The vision started as Peddle founder Scott Hembree became increasingly frustrated about the single-use items his family was throwing away. One day while out to eat with his family of nine, Scott looked down at the table as they were finishing and he was amazed at the amount of packaging that was headed to the trash! The single-use items they were disposing of after 15 minutes felt like they were too good to send to the landfill. He was determined to create a better way to handle this packaging and service it at the source.
Growing up in Carroll County, Scott heard stories about how his father would peddle eggs to customers in Atlanta as a teenager. As they went door to door selling, peddlers, like his father, reclaimed the empty cartons and jugs to reuse; they simply couldn’t afford to give all of that good packaging to the customer for free. Scott realized that we can’t afford to just throw these valuable items away either! It was a combination of this vision and his work as a materials engineer that led Scott to create Peddle.
