PC Scale, Inc. started in 1986 as a division of Scale Systems, Inc. Our first software package designed for the solid waste industry was installed at a transfer station in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Beginning as a regional supplier of attended and unattended scale management software, interfaced to truck scales, word of our excellent solid waste management software products and support spread, resulting in a solid waste technology management software product line that expanded to accommodate many industries that need to track their critical business data for scale transactions, hauling, recycling, routing and billing solid waste, recycling, medical waste, tires, chemicals, etc.
Throughout the next two decades, PC Scale, Inc. established itself as the leader in point-of-sale systems for all types of disposal, recycling, and material sales involving truck, floor, attended and unattended scales. In 2005, the company embarked on its current growth plan, starting to round out the solid waste management software products and services offered.
After spending a year reviewing the landscape of complementary industry packages, PC Scale, Inc completed its acquisition of TransComp Systems, Inc., and their Tower product line in 2006. The purchase of the feature-rich Tower product added a leader in the route management software application space to PC Scale’s portfolio, and Tower’sstrong underlying Microsoft .NET architecture laid the foundation for the future suite of solid waste management software products.
In 2007 PC Scale, Inc. continued with our consolidation and growth strategy with the acquisition of Norwesco Computing and their RicSoft ® applications. Further bolstering our customer base in the northwestern United States and Canada, the Norwesco purchase added customers in Great Britain and France, opening up European markets.
From 2008 onward, PC Scale, Inc has been concentrating on complimenting our holdings with investments in technologies and organizations that can help our existing customer base and that can help us extend our existing market lead.
To date, PC Scale has sold and installed over 2,000 business software solutions, with installations throughout the United States as well as in Canada, Mexico, Africa and Europe.
