Before the inception of Patton’s Metal Working Solutions, the history of the company began with the Novack family scrap metal business started in the early 1900’s. Alex Novack was a creative business man who bought and sold scrap metals in and around the Inland Empire. With a lot of perseverance and fortitude, the Novack family created a scrap metals yard, Alex Novack and Sons, that for years was a landmark operation in the region.

In 1959, Alex’s son, Bud Novack, launched a new venture located across the street and called it Patton Sales, named after Patton Street in Ontario. Bud sold usable materials out of scrap piles at a greatly reduced price. He quickly expanded his offerings to include military surplus, secondary steel products, surplus industrial products, used office furniture and more. The company flourished under Bud’s leadership and, as he outgrew the facility, the company moved to its present Ontario location at 558 East California Street. Soon, Patton’s was in the business of selling new and used steel, surplus tools and office furniture.

The family’s next generation entered the business in the 1970’s, and Jacob Zeidman and Jon Novack took the company to the next level molding it into the regional steel service center that it has become. Currently, third generation family members also work for the business, helping to support the growth of the company and Patton’s family.

Today, Patton’s is an industry leader in new metals, industrial metal working equipment and tools for the metal working industry. The company operates seven locations, growing and expanding into the market, with trucking facilities making daily deliveries throughout the Southwest region.

P atton’s delivers your material requests from over three million pounds of stocked in-house inventory in our 65,000 square foot distribution center in Ontario, California. Our stock includes an extensive selection of hot and cold rolled steel, carbon steel, galvanized materials, aluminum, stainless and much more… And it is all clean material that is stored indoors, ready for processing and next-day delivery to most of the Southwest region.
