Who we are

Papiro Sarda Srl was born on 23 September 1982.The founding partner Giulio Barsanti together with his wife Mariella Guidi and their friend Sergio Lapi decided to set up the company and buy the Perra paper mill from the court.

The adventure in Sardinia began in 1960, when Giulio arrived in Sardinia with his father Bruno to build his first paper mill in Santa Giusta, the “Cartiera Santa Giusta” of which Sergio Lapi became director in the following years. In 1982 the activity of Papiro Sarda begins, a paper mill that produces paper for corrugators using waste paper collected on the island as raw material.

The first years are of great and hard work to restructure and implement the existing paper mill, with tenacity and determination Giulio and Sergio begin the production of fluting paper, sold only on the island and to a single customer. In 1995 the first important investments began to strengthen and improve production, without stopping, in a continuous evolution. Two of Giulio and Mariella's three children start working for the family business, Daniela in 1992 as administrative / commercial manager, and Andrea in 1999, production / development manager. In 1999 the company produced 6,000 tons and in 2019 it produced 20,000, with sales throughout the national territory of fluting / medium paper and semi-chemical use.
