Bob Freed served in World War II with the United States Army. Once he returned stateside, he was ready to put the organizational skills he had learned during his service to use in the jewelry industry. He purchased Palmer’s Jewelry from Palmer Gevirtz in 1946 after the store had been opened on November 11, 1944 by Gevirtz. Palmer’s started out small, but has grown over the years to fulfill its’ customers’ needs. outside store Palmer’s Jewelry is still a family business, as it is now owned by Bob Freed’s son, Mike Freed, who took over ownership of the family business in 1989. Seventy-two years has brought a lot of changes, but we still operate under the same principles laid out by Bob Freed-family owned with strong ethics and community service. As with any successful long-running business we have had to embrace many changes over the years, but some things will never change. We keep our hard work ethic and treat our customers and our employees like family. Palmer’s Jewelry has been able to continue our success by continually adding services that our customers need and want. We do all watch and jewelry repair here in house, so your jewelry will always be kept here in our store. We are members of the Jewelers of America, American Gem Society, Jewelers Vigilance Council, National Federation of Independent Business, Better Business Bureau, and our local Chamber of Commerce.
