PalFleet Truck Equipment Company was formed when the PALFINGER North America Group integrated the Group's Tiffin Loader Crane Co. with Omaha Standard Distribution in 2009. Omaha Standard Distribution has been part of the PALFINGER family since the 2008 acquisition of Omaha Standard Inc., a leading US manufacturer of commercial truck bodies and equipment. The company operated for decades as Fontaine Truck Equipment Company and developed a strong reputation as a leading truck equipment distributor.

PalFleet now carries on Fontaine's rich history as a full line truck equipment business with over 70 years of industry experience. Early in the 1940's John P.K. Fontaine, a pioneer in the truck equipment industry, established himself as a leader who had the willingness to improvise, design and manufacture quality products that would meet the demands of the transportation market. In the 1960's he established a network of branches and manufacturing plants across the nation. It was these factory branches that evolved over the years to become Fontaine Truck Equipment Company, and now, PalFleet.
