The origins of Osson

OUR GROWTH

In 1923 the founder Osson Bartolomeo was born into a peasant family in the Barbaresco area in the Piedmontese Langhe. In 1955 he worked as a worker in the San Paolo paper mill in Alba.

At the end of the 1950s, the owners of the paper mill asked Bartolomeo to collect the paper from the companies and businesses in the area. Thus begins, as a second job, the collection with a cart and the packaging of the paper with a handcrafted wooden press. At the beginning of the 1960s the paper mill closed.

In 1961 Bartolomeo bought a hay packer and modified it to press paper.
The work increases so much that in 1972 he buys a second packer. In the 1980s, thanks to industrialization in the area, the quantities of paper were such as to require more space for processing and additional workforce. Together with his sons Francesco and Mario he decides to build the first industrial building on the outskirts of Alba.

In 2001 the Company obtained the UNI EN ISO 9001 quality certification. In 2004 the Company adopted an environmental policy that allowed it to achieve the UNI EN ISO 14001 certification.

Today, with the entry into the company of the third generation, the business takes place in a new and modern complex located in the industrial area of ​​La Morra.
The company's suppliers are private companies and public bodies. The company is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies for the collection and treatment of all waste materials.

Osson is sensitive to the need to spread and consolidate the culture of transparency and integrity, as well as aware of the importance of ensuring conditions of fairness in the conduct of business and in company activities to protect the position, image and expectations of shareholders as well as the rights of its employees regarding hygiene and safety in the workplace, adopting the organization, management and control model provided for by the Decree.
