RRO is a joint venture formed 55% by the Osona County Council and 45% by the private company Cespa, SA, which was set up in 1996 with the aim of managing the public service of collection, transport, treatment, recycling and recovery of waste from the municipalities of Osona. Later, the company's activity was expanded to also meet the demand for road cleaning in the county councils. The company was initially incorporated for a period of 16 years and once elapsed an extension was carried out for 8 years.
It currently serves 39 municipalities: 29 with a container system and 10 with door-to-door collection. Thus, it manages the waste of more than 130,000 inhabitants.
