COMPANY BACKGROUND

While a freshman at California State University at Fullerton in 1979, Paul Kinan was given a choice between a car and a truck to commute to school. He chose a truck because he felt that he could earn some extra money with a truck.

Paul started doing small fence projects because he had helped his father repair the fence at their home. Soon he brought his lifelong buddy and fellow CSUF student, Frank Oddo, into the business. The business grew and they brought in more of their friends to help, all while they were still students at CSUF. After graduation, Paul looked to do other things, but his friends talked him into continuing the fence business. Paul got his contractor’s license and operated the business until 2001.

A-1 Enterprises, Inc., parent company of A-1 Fence Company, purchased Orange County Fence in August 2002. A-1 brought more than 50 years of professional management knowledge and additional financial and engineering resources into the partnership, and Orange County Fence was able to solidify its reputation for quality and service.
