For over 5 decades the name Oberländer has stood for robust and reliable scrap processing equipment

For over 50 years press shears, baling presses and shredders designed by Werner Oberländer have been in operation in Western Europe, the United States and, since 1980, in eastern Europe and the countries of the former Soviet Union. The majority are still in operation today, proving the unique production quality and productivity of the former design. Werner Oberländer has now developed a new generation of scrap processing equipment, based on his long lasting experience and by using the newest technology, and introduced it to the market.

The first markstone was set by Mr. Oberländer with the developpment of the column guiding for shear heads in the end of the 1960 as chief engineer at “Maschinenfabrik Becker” in Dortmund, which are today known as the most reliable and long lasting shear head guiding in the market.

In collaboration with an experienced partner in the scrap equipment business the company ORM Oberländer Recycling Maschinen GmbH was founded with offices in Hagen/Germany, specifically to provide the dynamic markets in Eastern Europe and the CIS-countries with this new technology.

ORM can rely on the substantial know-how of its partners in this market. In the first phase of the market launch stationary press-shears with shear forces of 600, 800, 1,100 and 1,300 tons, stationary compact shears with 500 t shear force and mobile shears with a shear force of 500 tons were introduced.

The first new Oberländer generation press shear has already been successfully commissioned in summer 2007 on a scrap yard in Moscow. As a matter of course the servicing and the supply of spare parts are secured besides the machine supply. A large service network with partners was setup for this purpose.

In 2017 the company moved to new property in Schwerte/Dortmund, where the production and workshop surface was increase to over 1.000 m² with large crane capacities. This new property allows complete services from fabrication, installation, and test runs in house.
