Founded in 1989, North American Millwright Services, Inc. has built a reputation as one of the region’s leading providers in machinery installation, rigging, welding, process piping, plant relocation, industrial maintenance and equipment warehousing.

Bruce Baggan – Chief Executive Officer and Founder

As one of three founders in 1989, Chief Executive Officer and remaining founder of North American Millwright, Bruce has grown the company from its modest start to over forty employees today.

Bruce began his career working summers at International Paper in the plant and later in the office. He was hired as facilities engineer upon graduation from college and was charged with operations productivity, capital projects initiation, as well as installation and justification of capital expenditures. He later became finishing superintendent responsible for all operations post printing.

Bruce later worked for Barton Cotton in a similar capacity and was hired by Rockland Industries to manage their complete plant move to the old International Paper Plant. He went on to work for Westinghouse as facilities engineer, responsible for managing all buildings and moves within.

As a proud graduate of McDonogh School and University of Baltimore, Bruce holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management. Outside of work, Bruce is a bassist with numerous music groups as small as a jazz duo up to a 17 piece big band. You may catch him playing brunch at Ze Mean Bean cafe in Federal Hill, amongst other venues around town. Along with his wife, children and grandchildren, he enjoys most summer weekends in Ocean City, Maryland.

Christopher Baggan – President

Chris began his career with the company at age 14 working summers, learning the business from the ground up. At age 15, he purchased his first vehicle, a Jeep, forcing him to become a mechanic to get it road-worthy. Many a Friday night in High School, Chris could be found under the hood of a vehicle. He attributes his early success to his mechanical knowledge, often being the go-to person for vehicle repairs and modification for himself and his friends.

After graduating in 1994 from Boys Latin school, where he played football and lacrosse, Chris began his full time position with the company. That same year, he enrolled in welding classes and over the next year obtained his Commercial Drivers License and welding certifications.

As he sharpened his skills in pipe fitting, welding, fabricating, and rigging, Chris began to run jobs in 1996. That field experience has provided him excellent management skills and knowledge of the industry.

Today, Chris is the main contact for North American Millwright’s largest customer and continues to grow relationships with each new customer. Chris and wife Nancy have one daughter, born in October 2012. They enjoy spending time with friends and family here in Baltimore and also in Ocean City, MD during the summer months. Chris continues to embrace his automotive related pastimes, including ATV’s, motorcycles and not surprisingly, Jeeps.
