The concentration of population centers and our consumption habits have caused a large generation of waste that, if not managed correctly, would pose a serious problem for our environment .

Each citizen of the Commonwealth RSU of the Ribera Alta de Navarra generates an average of 1.1 kg. of garbage every day. The correct management of this garbage depends on your daily work in separation.

By separating the garbage, you favor the work of recycling and contribute to the sustainability of our environment by reducing CO2 emissions, helping to reuse raw materials (glass, paper, ...) and the use of waste (plastics, organic matter, ...)

History

The year 1990, nine towns in the Ribera Alta constituted their own Commonwealth of Waste. They are Azagra, Cadreita, Falces, Funes, Marcilla, Milagro, Peralta, San Adrián and Villafranca. The entity's activity began a year later with the Moratiel Landfill, in the municipality of Peralta, which allowed it to provide a waste collection service: organic waste and other waste, on the one hand, and glass, paper, and cardboard on the other.

The selection and treatment of containers arrived in 1999 and the start-up of the service was accompanied by the construction of the Plant for the selection of containers, which over time has become one of its main activities. Initially, the facilities only processed containers from the municipalities that were part of the Solid Waste Commonwealth, but in 2002 the volume of work increased, thanks to containers from Mairaga, the Valdizarbe Commonwealth, Sakana, Mendealdea and Alto Araxes, and in 2005 those of the Commonwealth of Sangüesa, making it necessary to automate the plant in 2008.
