M&R Recycling Solutions has been active in the field of metal recycling since the early 1970s. At this comparatively early stage - when the idea of ​​recycling was much less important than it is today - the company founder at the time was already concerned with the separation of metals from residual materials from the car shredders of that time.

The technology required for this was not very well developed and so a large amount of technical development was necessary at that time in order to produce usable metals at competitive conditions.

Later in the 1990s, the company also dealt with the processing of electronic scrap. At that time the first M&R shredder was built. Since a legal obligation to take back old electrical devices came into force much later in 2005, the primary goal at that time was, in addition to removing pollutants, efficient metal recovery.

From then on, M&R has continuously operated and developed these two core business areas. In addition to many other properties, distinctive technical know-how and well-founded specialist knowledge of raw material utilization played the key role for a successful corporate development over many years.

In 2001, the company moved from its two locations in Oberbergischen to the then new Bergkamen location, where it has since been located on the former colliery site there.

As before, the core business of M&R is the processing of metallic residues from various shredding processes as well as the recycling of assemblies from old electrical devices and other composite materials. M & R's suppliers are a large number of recycling companies that produce intermediate products containing metal in their processes. The aim of M&R is to produce intermediate products for the international raw materials industry from these intermediate products.
