MPI Ecogreen deals with the management of waste accumulators as well as being a collector on behalf of the Consorzio Consibat. The company is controlled and managed by TAB Italia SpA which owns the entire capital.

To its R13 storage facility located in Zanica, MPI Ecogreen acts as a fundamental logistical support point, acting as a link between the various holders of exhausted lead batteries and the recovery plants.

In addition to the Italian plants, to which MPI Ecogreen sells exhausted batteries through the intermediary of the Consibat consortium, MPI-Reciklaža, the R4 recovery plant located in Slovenia and owned by the TAB group, is of fundamental importance. It is in this plant that the waste treatment operations take place to ensure the reuse of recoverable materials. Once refined, lead is in fact reused to produce new batteries: from 60 thousand tons of exhausted batteries, 30 thousand tons of pure lead are obtained. This is how the virtuous cycle put in place by TAB at both the Italian and European level ends, thus achieving the goal of giving the batteries new energy.

MPI Ecogreen was born in 2013 from the need of the TAB Italia property to set up a logistics center capable of managing the waste flows deriving from the introduction of lead-acid batteries into the Italian market. Following a preliminary phase of obtaining the necessary authorizations, preparatory to carrying out the hazardous waste collection activity, in 2014 MPI began its collection of exhausted batteries.
