Monterrey Iron & Metal (20M) is a metal and scrap recycling center located on Frio City Road, near Quintana Road, in San Antonio’s south side of town. We bought our first truck in 1928 … and have come a long way since then! Our yard today encompasses over thirty acres of efficiently organized scrap, equipment and crew.
With a full crew of mechanics, welders, machine operators, truck drivers and managerial staff, Monterrey can handle more material with less down-time.
We have over 400 roll-off boxes, 2 heavy reduction balers, 12 cranes, 8 roll-off trucks, 4 Big Rigs, 45 trailers, an automobile shredder, five shears (one of which is the largest in the state), and two 70 ft. high-capacity scales. We also have a rail line to the Union Pacific hub, which allows us to ship domestically and internationally via rail. Our 15,000 sq. ft. warehouse facility is equipped with a digital scale and forklifts to assist unloading. Each of our over 80 employees play an important role in the scrap recycling process and we are proud that many of them have been with us 10+ years, including two over 55 years!
