MMR's corporate office is headquartered in Jackson, Michigan and its operating office is located in Flint, Michigan. It was established in 1993 for the purpose of establishing and operating wood waste recycling facilities in southern Michigan to serve the needs of the Genesee Power Station (GPS). GPS is a 38 megawatt wood waste fired cogeneration plant that produces process steam and electricity from wood waste and other renewable materials. The process steam is available to the adjacent industrial park and the electricity, enough for 28,000 households, is sold wholesale to Consumers Energy under a thirty five year contract serving the "green" electric needs of Michigan
