Michigan Metal Coatings, an ISO 9001:2008 certified company with an A2LA accredited laboratory, Certificate Number: 3271.01, is a leader in the application of chromium free, corrosion resistant coating systems. Our facility is located in Port Huron, Michigan, north of Detroit, and was chosen for it's access to major thoroughfares which allows for rapid service and easier access to our customers, the automotive industry and it's suppliers, both locally and interstate.

We supply the automotive, construction, marine, trucking and appliance industries, just to name a few, with the most up to date water based coating technologies available today.

Michigan Metal Coatings is licensed to apply the various GEOMET® metal finishing systems. The GEOMET® coating systems are corrosion resistant compositions offering: freedom from hydrogen embrittlement, temperature resistance, a base for most paints, electrical conductivity and resistence to solvents, gasoline and brake fluids, with GEOMET® being a chromium free, environmentally friendly coating. Michigan Metal Coatings was one of the first companies in North America approved and authorized to apply the GEOMET 720®, GEOMET DIP-SPIN® and GEOMET 321® coating systems to meet the newest chromium-free specifications.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

The quality assurance team at Michigan Metal Coatings prepares and analyzes new chemicals as well as chemicals being used in production, collects samples from production runs for various analysis and documents and charts SPC data collected from various production areas. For control purposes, the quality assurance group possesses the final say on the shipment of coated parts. No GEOMET® coated part leaves the facility until quality assurance gives its approval.

As follow-up, treated parts undergo torque-tension testing as well as salt spray testing (ASTM B-117) to insure they meet the specification requirements.
