boone steel LLC is a leading metal supplier based just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, in Northern Kentucky. We work primarily with manufacturing companies, tool shops, and individuals, supplying them with Aluminum, Cold Rolled & Hot Finished Steel, Brass, and Copper. We draw our expertise from a talented team of metal experts, with more than one hundred years of experience in the metal industry.

company history

In 1977, boone steel LLC was founded as a direct result of The Beverly Hills Supper Club fire. Before the fire, there had been a Northern Kentucky metal company named River Steel Corporation, owned by James Lyon of Fort Mitchell, Kentucky; he was one of the many victims of the Supper Club fire. After his death, River Steel’s buildings and inventory was sold to another steel company in the area, and River Steel itself was closed down. Three of James Lyon’s former employees–Bill Sanford, the plant superintendent, along with two of the plant’s top salesmen: Ron Maltaner and Denver Jackson–went off to start boone steel LLC in the heart of Covington, Kentucky.

boone steel LLC was started in a repurposed tobacco warehouse that lacked both electricity and running water. At first, we cut all of the metal by hand and we delivered all of our orders with an old dump truck we had purchased from a local trash company. Through hard work and dedication, each year our business grew, eventually coming to the point where we had outgrown our original warehouse and had to move to our new facilities in Walton, Kentucky. For over thirty years we have supplied Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky individuals and businesses with the finest metals our industry has to offer, and we eagerly look to the next thirty.
