Lemstra was founded 40 years ago, the founder of the company Pieter Lemstra worked in 3 shifts at the former HMS in Bolsward. In his spare time he visited the farmers for scrap iron and metals. When the HMS closed its doors, my father continued with only the collection and trading of iron and metals. More and more people knew where to find Lemstra, especially industry and construction.

After having worked for 8 years in steel construction / mechanization, I came to work with my father Wilfred Lemstra in 2006.

A few years later I decided to move on with the business and we switched places and my father joined me.

In 2011, I took a big gamble and built a new building at the location where we are now.

Since that time, the company has grown steadily into what it is today. Our own location for the collection and recycling of metals with a view to the environment and quality.

At the moment there are 6 employees who are constantly collecting/dismantling metals. There are currently 300 containers outstanding at our customers. And we are still growing.
