We are an independent metal fabricating company specializing in the burr-free abrasive cut-off of metal parts and the related grinding, lapping, polishing, turning, EDM and metrology capabilities required to meet our customers’ tight tolerance requirements. We manufacture precision metal components for a very diverse range of industries, including medical device, automotive, electronic, biotechnology, semiconductor, aerospace, fiber optic, electrical and general mechanical industries.
We were founded in 1967, outgrew our original building in 1973 and again in 1998 when we moved to our current 52,000 square foot modern manufacturing facility which provides plenty of space for our dedicated and skilled staff and our extensive range of machinery. It is here that we focus on the abrasive processes of cutting, grinding, lapping, and polishing of small diameter precision metal parts.
In 2006 we acquired a fully operational electrical discharge machining business in Gibbon, Minnesota which now houses 9 wire cut EDM machines. To continue meeting our customers’ needs, starting in 2008 we expanded our existing machine shop capabilities with Haas and most recently Citizen turning equipment, allowing us to offer multi-axis CNC milling, lathe and automatic Swiss style machining up to 7 axes.
Our specialty has always been small diameter parts made from all metals. The parts can be long but are most often short, often very short. In the 1960s and 1970s we primarily worked with non-ferrous metals, especially tungsten and molybdenum. By the 1980s and 1990s we were heavily involved with ferrous alloys, especially stainless steel. Since the turn of the century, we have added many of the newer nickel and titanium based alloys so that we can truly say we work with all metals.
As part of our history in the tungsten and molybdenum businesses, in 1984 we became the exclusive North American distributor for Nippon Tungsten Co., Ltd.’s tungsten and molybdenum products. The two stand-outs amongst our performance engineered refractory powder metallurgy products are tungsten wire and tungsten copper electrodes. Tungsten wire is available in all diameters, compositions, shapes and surface finishes, as well as our having the only ongoing fully vertical production of gold plated tungsten wire. Copper tungsten alloys are available in the standard but also specialty engineered compositions for use in Sinker EDM and spot welding electrodes.
We have provided precision metal components since 1967. Over the years we have continuously improved our products and processes. We have never lost sight of the simple fact that we do it for you. Meeting your quality, price and delivery requirements is what it is all about.
