What started as a car junkyard in the 1970s has now grown into an iron and metal recycling company.

We buy ferrous and non-ferrous metals from both small and large traders as well as private individuals.

After sorting and / or processing, the materials are transported to one of our partners at home or abroad.

History

Until the early 1970s, former owner / father Martinus Franssen worked for various employers in the construction sector. His specialty was earthmoving. In addition to that employment relationship, he dismantled cars “after the time” with his own O&K machine.

At the time, this was still done in a very primitive but especially environmentally unfriendly way. The interior trim and wiring were burned out. Then everything was disassembled by hand. Engine blocks and copper wiring in particular were kept separate after which the remaining wreckage was cut into four pieces.

Gradually, Mr. Franssen gained a name within Maastricht, which led to him operating these activities as an independent entrepreneur. We speak 1972: Metal trade Franssen was born.   

Due to the crowds, his wife Gerda Franssen regularly helped out. In addition to raising the children, she also supported her husband in the company.

In 1987 the youngest son Wilhelm Franssen joins the company. The existing scrap car activities will be expanded at that time with the trade in sheet metal and scrap iron.

In the early 2000s, the product range was completed with the purchase of non-ferrous metals.

In 2007, a new site was purchased at the current location and father Franssen handed over the proverbial baton to son Wilhelm. This does not mean that he will enjoy his old age. He is still working in the company every day.
