In 1946 - just after the war - grandfather Jan Blokdijk (called Doebe) started the daily collection of old metals in Hoorn and the surrounding area. Texel was also visited once a month, so that Blokdijk from North Holland to the islands became a well-known name.

Where grandpa Blokdijk had to do everything on the cargo bike, his son, Nico Blokdijk, took a different approach. Initially he helped his father in the business and later took over the company. When his son Serge and daughter Saskia also join him, the company is expanded over the years into a large family business. A history we are proud of!
