Metal packaging from companies
In companies, metal packaging waste is generated in production processes and, for example, in operations in restaurants and hotels. Metal packaging waste is also generated during the transportation of products.
It is the responsibility of a company with producer responsibility to sort the metal packaging that remains on its property and to arrange for its transportation to terminals that receive metal packaging waste. The terminals accept metal packaging with a capacity of up to 1,000 litres.
METAL PACKAGING WASTE FROM COMPANIES INCLUDES:
ALUMINIUM AND TINPLATE PACKAGING
Paint pails and tins
Food cans
Aerosol cans
Non-deposit beverage cans
Aluminium trays
Metal lids and clips
STEEL PACKAGING
Roller cages
Containers
Metal cores
Metal strapping
Steel drums
Beer kegs
Gas bottles
Much of companies’ metal packaging can be reused or, if necessary, repaired for reuse. These items include roller cages used in shops, beer kegs, barrels, containers and gas bottles. They must only be taken to a metal collection point when they can no longer be repaired.
