The Medawar family of jewelers began in 1920 when Ronny's grandfather, Chakib Medawar, opened a small watch and clock shop. Chakib Medawar then taught Ronny's father, Samuel Medawar, the trade. With that catalyst, Samuel Medawar, sparked a jewelry legacy, by expanding the business to include jewelry repair and sales. All the while, Ronny, in his early youth, would observe and learn alongside his father, Samuel. "My father would patiently instruct me, while I sat alongside him, just as my grandfather Chakib did with him. My father taught me about watches and our trade, yet his lessons were more than merely technical. I was also taught the importance of treating each client and their heirlooms, with dignity and respect. Medawar Jewelers is a place where honesty and integrity are foremost, by all means. These life lessons have been the foundation by which we have built our family business upon."
Thus, in what began in a one-room storefront in 1920 has expanded into a multi-store heritage in Michigan and California. Sam and Suzanne Medawar opened Medawar Jewelers in Haslett, Michigan in 1979. After many years of creating relationships, they had expanded to a larger location, Medawar Jewelers on East Saginaw St in Lansing, across from the Frandor Shopping Center. This location is now known as Medawar Jewelers Frandor, which in turn is also mid-Michigan's largest jewelry store.

After growing up in the business and learning from his parents, Ronny Medawar continued to expand the Medawar Jewelers legacy. Ronny opened the Flint Township store in late 2001 and then in 2009 he opened the Fenton store.

Since then, our stores have become recognized for having the highest standards for customer service and premium quality jewelry, at affordable prices. Medawar Jewelers is also a Direct Diamond Importer, which allows us to acquire diamonds "straight from the diamond cutter," this in turn gives us greater control over the quality and pricing of all our diamonds. Medawar Jewelers surpasses all others by offering meticulously chosen diamond and gemstone jewelry. We also have "in-house" jeweler for custom design and repair work. Medawar Jewelers has certified watch and clock specialists, who are factory authorized to repair over 19 of the world's most renowned watch and clock brands. Furthermore, Medawar Jewelers continues to maintain a true customer service rarity in today's world, by offering "house-calls" for service upon treasured Grandfather clocks.
