Bright Dipping / Etching Procedures
Our specialty is the utilization of Bright Dipping, a chemical process to produce a high luster while preparing your aluminum components for Type II Sulfuric Anodic coating. Bright Dipping used in conjunction with Anodizing produces a finish with a visual appeal that cannot be duplicated by any other means. For flat or matte surface finishes, we provide Etching services prior to Anodizing. The corrosive action of Etching enables us to remove material from a component to your specifications or to remove old Anodic coatings.
The Anodizing Process
Anodizing is an electrolytic process which develops an Anodic coating on the aluminum surface, allowing the coating to absorb dye, producing an integral color. Aluminum components may be Anodized in clear and a wide variety of popular colors. The colors we produce are brilliant and our black is a deep, rich black. Anodizing size capabilities will depend on the color you desire. Your Anodized components will realize increased corrosion resistance, excellent wear and abrasion properties, insulation against the passage of electricity as will as a highly decorative finish. In fact, Anodizing is the basis for most color coating processes on aluminum in use today, and our years of experience have made us experts.
Metal Finishing Operations
Should your aluminum components require metal finishing prior to Anodizing, we offer complete in-house Polishing and Buffing services. The Polishing operation precedes Buffing to remove metal from the original surface. A definite coarse line pattern or brushed effect remains after this procedure. Buffing produces various finishes ranging from semi-bright to a high luster or mirror finish without any line effect, while removing very little metal. These services are also available for your brass, copper, magnesium or stainless steel parts.
