Originally established as a waste disposal company by Albert ‘Tiny’ McKinstry,

McKinstry Skip hire has grown from a small family business to being one of Northern Ireland’s major waste processing operations. 

Now run by his sons Darren and Mark McKinstry the brothers still emulate their father’s ‘hands on’ family business approach to the day to day operation of the business.

Darren & Mark have taken on and embraced the running the family business that has been passed down to them. The business has grown from strength to strength from just a small family firm to now being one of the lead players in the waste industry, this may be so but that family approach is still as strong as the first day it started.

With the main Depot at Nutts Corner and satellite Depots at Belfast, Newry and also Mallusk the associated businesses offer a comprehensive package of waste management and resource solution.

The company continually investigates all global recycling markets to identify alternative outlets for their customer’s waste products further increasing their diversion rates from landfill.  From skip hire, metal recycling, waste management and Biomass.

This has resulted is various waste streams from the skip hire division leaving their Material Recovery Facility in Nutts Corner for destinations all over the world.
