From humble beginnings in 1970 in County Tyrone, Ireland, John McCourt began his career in the screening equipment business on the factory assembly line for Powerscreen International Ltd. His drive, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit enabled him to become a well-established dealer throughout Europe. In 1974, John had the opportunity to establish a Powerscreen International dealership within the United States market, so John and Eileen relocated with their family.

After a successful few years, John decided to establish his own distributorship in 1978, K&M Equipment, Inc., located in La Grange, Texas. After a decade, K&M Equipment was sold, although John continued to work there for several years. During this decade, it was evident that many opportunities existing equipment distributors were not able to fulfill. John capitalized on his equipment knowledge, experience, and ongoing business relationships throughout the industry, and McCourt & Sons Equipment, Inc. was founded in 1999. McCourt quickly became a market leader in providing quality equipment, sales, parts, and service. Our reputation is built upon many years of industry experience.
