McCook Public Power District has been in operation for 81 years; our system was organized July 16, 1935.  MPPD is owned and governed by the people and businesses we serve. We work to maintain reliability and are good stewards of the environment. 

 We have 26 employees with an average of 11.5 years of service.  There are seven board of directors who meet the third Tuesday of each month. 

MPPD has 4,978 services in parts of 6 counties which include Frontier, Red Willow, Hitchcock, Lincoln, Hayes and Gosper.  Our service area consists of 2,581 miles of line and 13 substations.

MPPD provides 3.31 fewer times the miles of line per customer as the average rural electric in the United States and at a competitive rate.  We feel these statistics prove that Nebraska's public power system works and the MPPD Board of Directors, management, and employees have done their part in keeping electric rates competitive.

In addition to keeping our rates as low as possible, MPPD prides itself in personal service.  We strive to keep in touch with our customers and encourage them to contact us whenever they have a question or concern of any kind.
