We're a small but mighty team

Mayside Recycling is part of the Guernsey Recycling Group [trading as GRG]. Mayside is an independent contractor, licensed to process dry materials for recycling. We have been operating for 30 years. We provide a commercial recycling service to businesses. We can either collect directly from business addresses on a scheduled or ad hoc basis; or accept deliveries at our depot.

We employ a fantastic team of 17 people; including a Site Director, General Manager, Supervisors, drivers, machine and recycling operatives. Between us we have over 50 years experience in recycling and logistics.

Mayside Recycling has been awarded a 10 year contract by the States of Guernsey, to process kerbside recycling. We process the blue and clear bags collected from households; as well as the paper, cardboard, plastic, tin and carton bring banks.The blue and clear kerbside recycling bags and bring banks are delivered to our depot at La Hure Mare, St Sampson’s, 6 days a week.

Mayside Recycling benefits from the expertise of Officers employed by GRG; including a the Group Operations Director, the Associate Director of Environmental Compliance, the Group Health and Safety Officer,  Data Protection Officer and the Group’s HR Consultant.

Our Commitment to the Environment

We employ a fantastic team of Staff, who work hard to conserve natural resources through recycling. We believe in recycling today, for the value it brings today, tomorrow, and for future generations.

Recycling reduces our use of raw materials and energy, which reduces the impact we have on our environment.  Recycling also diverts waste and litter away from landfill, and our green spaces and oceans. Whilst plastic is a part of most people’s consumer lifestyle, waste breaking down into microplastics because of improper disposal and littering needs to be avoided.

Our Team sort and separate the different materials and ship these to specialist recycling facilities in the UK. We process approximately 25 tonnes of kerbside and bring bank recycling every day.

GRG actively supports local environmental protection projects and volunteers its time and logistics raise awareness about pollution, recycling and biodiversity. We participate in beach cleans, and provide logistical support to transport, weigh, record and recycle the litter collected.

We work with various environmental charities, and provide support to La Societe Guernesiaise, and Pick it Up Guernsey. We welcome requests from schools and groups who want to learn more about, or need support for, recycling and environmental projects.

Mayside Recycling has signed up to the Guernsey Employment Trust (GET) Employment Charter.

We offer work experience placements to any candidate who is able to meet our minimum criteria, and assuming they are able to work safely within our busy operating environment.
