Harold and Ida Markman opened their first jewelry store in October 1976. Their plan was to provide their customers with the “best quality and best service at the best price.” While this is an idea that a lot of companies claim is their goal, Markmans made this the foundation of their business. When you see a gift box with a Markmans logo, you know something special is inside.  Because the knowledge of Markmans dedication to quality and service to their customers became known throughout East Tennessee, Markmans expanded to an additional location in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1978. Located outside the Hamilton Place Mall, the Chattanooga store offers the same high level of service and customer satisfaction as found in the original Knoxville store.  Like the Knoxville flagship store, the Chattanooga store continues its promise of providing the best quality and best service at the best price. In order to do this, the tradition of training each employee to follow the methods of service established by Harold Markman continues. The expectation of employees is to provide service with knowledge and true, caring commitment.
