Markham Transfer accepts Clean Construction & Demolition Waste from General Contractors, Construction Companies & Private Residents
Following Chicago's Lead in Markham
The Department of Environment promotes the responsible separation and recycling of construction and demolition (C&D) debris to help contractors and individuals save on costly disposal fees while protecting the environment. Markham Transfer has played a part from its very beginning.
Since 2007, the City of Chicago’s Construction and Demolition (C&D) Waste Recycling Ordinance requires companies to responsibly recycle 50% of debris, measured by weight, produced on site. C&D debris is defined by the City as non-hazardous, non-contaminated solid waste resulting from construction, remodeling, repair, or demolition operations on pavement, buildings, and other structures.
Markham Transfer tracks then reports how much waste is generated and recycled at projects sites so contractors can easily meet the recycling objectives of the region’s towns and cities. To make this process simple, MTR will collect all of the material in one dumpster and sort the debris at our state-of-the-art recycling facility, and provide documentation.
This integrative process saves your company time and money on-site and results in recycling rates well over 50%. Clean C&D debris includes waste from new construction, renovation, and demolition projects and may include:
