Marcellus Metalcasters was started in 1998 to fill the domestic need for short run iron castings.

Foreign competition has forced domestic foundries to increase automation to remain competitive. Most of the automated molding machines require special pattern equipment which can be justified if the production requirements are there.

But if you sell only a few of your castings a year, such as replacement parts, you can’t justify investing in new tooling to fit these machines. We pride ourselves in being able to utilize existing tooling. Some of the pattern that we run for our customers have been around for decades. We do our utmost to make it work!

Our employees have years of foundry experience beginning with our president and founder who holds a BS in Engineering Metallurgy along with 25 years of diverse experience with various sized foundries.

Within our labor force we average 15 years of experience in other foundries. Our people know what it takes to make good castings and are here because they know what they’re doing!

We provide quality.

The essence of our business is to provide to our customers a casting of repeatable dimensions with a known composition that provides acceptable physical properties. To that end we utilized thermal analysis along with on site optical emission spectrometry to control our melt composition.

Each casting is inspected for fit and function prior to shipment.

Our quality plan is based upon the international ISO 9000 quality standard.
