We currently employ over 65 people including drivers, and have 7 municipal contracts for Waste and Recycling and Fencing.
Our primary lines of businesses are:
Front-end garbage and recycling collection with an efficient diversion plan
Roll off bin rentals and disposals.
Portable Restrooms and special events
Fencing and privacy screening
Compactor Servicing and Repairs
Over the past few years, Maple Leaf Disposal has assisted the municipalities with the rental of garbage, front load vehicles and recycling trucks to assist them in completing their routes when they have experience equipment breakdowns and to assist them in recovering their schedules after a statutory holiday.
Maple Leaf Disposal has been awarded 7 municipal contracts for commercial & residential containerized waste and cardboard services. We are proud to participate in Leadership in Energy and Environment Design. LEED is a rating system that is recognized as the international mark of excellence for green building in over 132 countries. Since 2002, the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) and LEED Canada have been redefining the buildings and communities where Canadians live, work, and learn.
We are members of the Waste Management Association of British Columbia. WMABC has provided a forum and unified voice for BC’s private sector waste management industry. We are made up of over 60-member companies including collectors and haulers, waste and recycling facility operators, material marketers, and a wide range of industry suppliers. We are also members of Independent Contractors and Business Associations. ICBA continues to be the champion of open tendering and fair treatment for all contractors, regardless of their union affiliations. The association also offers a full suite of member services, including affinity programs, health benefits, and much more.
In the mid 1990’s, Maple Leaf Disposal teamed up with Polygon Construction, and the GVRD, to do a job site recycling pilot project. This pilot project was highly successful and was the impetus for Metro Vancouver’s construction and demolition sector, to exceed 75% diversion, well in excess of Metro Vancouver’s IC&I (Industrial, Commercial & Institutional) sector. Since stepping into the IC&I sector wholeheartedly in 2005, Maple Leaf has accepted the Zero Waste Challenge head-on by developing diversion programs to meet our customers growing and ever-changing needs. Starting with cardboard collection in 2005, paper and e-waste in 2007 and adding glass, metal and plastics in 2008. Since 2008we’ve added batteries, fluorescent tubes, small appliances, Styrofoam, organics and green waste recycling to our stable of waste diversion services. Our goal is to implement easy to use recycling services that our customers can use and train their staff to manage with little effort.
